Is my husband a narcissist, a sociopath, or just a difficult man?
The short answer first, because you came here for it. No quiz can tell you what your husband is, and anything that claims to is selling you something. What the research does say is that your own read is the part worth trusting: when women's assessments of their own situation were tested against the clinical instruments built for it, the women were right more often, and where they were wrong they had guessed too low, not too high (Heckert and Gondolf 2004; Cattaneo and Goodman 2003; Bell et al. 2008). So this page does not overrule you. It takes twenty things you have watched him do and gives the pattern a name and a shape, so you can stop carrying it as a feeling you cannot describe to anyone.
