Okay, so you're in a very difficult spot to be in because there's always that friction between the mother-in-law and the daughter-in-law, but it is compounded when it's a narcissist. The best way to cause separation between his mother and him is to highlight any sort of bad things she does in a positive way. So if you're sitting there bitching about her, it's not going to get to him. He's going to want to be like, no, I want to defend my mother.
I want to defend my mother, I don't care what she does because that's kind of the natural state men have with their mothers because obviously the mothers prefer sons usually and fathers prefer daughters, kind of a known phenomenon. But if you continue to say nag him or try to force him into an ultimatum, it will never work in your favor. What you need to do is show how bad she is, not tell how bad she is. So be on your absolute best behavior and then whenever she criticizes you, just remember that and try and ensure you do something that would enrage her or would create some sort of desire to snap and this should be around your husband so that he can actually witness how you're being disrespected.
